Season 2 Of "Jersey Shore" Gets A Big Thumbs Down From The Group Jersey Doesn't Stink

As the controversial M-TV show Jersey Shore begins its second season tonight, many Garden state residents are expressing frustration about the negative image the show portrays.

Included in that group are the founders of the organization Jersey Doesn't Stink.

Marc Buro, Vice President of Marketing for High Point Insurance, a founding sponsor of Jersey Doesn't Stink, says shows like Jersey Shore "are really mindless entertainment - from our point of view, the stereotypes that those types of shows portray are negative, and what Jersey Doesn't Stink is about, is trying to create a counter balance to that."

He says if you weren't familiar with Jersey, and you watched the program "you'd think our state is a bunch of gangsters, bozos and bimbos - and that's really not the case…New Jersey is a terrific place to live and work."

Buro adds if you go to jerseydoesntstink.com "there are letters that are available on the website for people who are so inclined to use that particular method…that can be sent to the producers of these programs…but the action that we're most interested in is the engagement of the dialogue, to really band together and create a loud voice, expressing the positives about New Jersey, something that can combat the stereotypes."

He says more than 5 thousand people have visited the website over the past few months, and pledged their support to the Garden state, and "we're very pleased that Jersey Doesn't Stink seems to be the place where real New Jerseyans are coming together."
