Legislation Would Allow Jersey Motorcycle Dealers To Open On Sundays

You can't buy a motorcycle from a New Jersey dealership on Sundays. But Trenton is working on changing that.

As it stands now, some Jersey motorcycle dealers say they're getting hammered by the competition across the river in Delaware, where Sunday sales are allowed. Jersey dealers say Delaware Sunday sales and the lousy economy have left them stalled. State Senator Donald Norcross cosponsored a bill that roared through the State Senate to allow dealers to open on Sunday. Some cycle dealers say they're also, "easy riders", and Sundays are their only day to get away. Norcross says, "if dealers want to remain open, they have the right to do so. If they don't, and they want to make a business decision to stay closed, that is absolutely within their right".

He expects the bill to have an easy time in the Assembly.
